2023 Roundup (And an appreciation post)
As we wrap up 2023 and head into 2024, I'm filled with gratitude for our incredible community - our customers, and team members - that make PracticeHub.
When I first started building PracticeHub in 2014, I had a desire to solve a problem for my parents and their chiropractic clinic, and with hope that I could do the same for other chiropractors and their businesses. I didn't fully comprehend what I was undertaking, but it was with pure brute force and naivety that I began the process to build the product and get customers onboard.
When you start any business, you have to work with the resources you have at the time, to make it work, and PracticeHub was no different. I have many very fond memories of these early days :
- PracticeHub started on a hand-me-down laptop, held together by duct tape
- The first ever conference we did (ChiroEurope) in 2017 with Charley, my wife. With virtually no capital, we needed to be creative as possible to get there and showcase PracticeHub, which included standby tickets on Monarch, a dodgy Airbnb, pot noodles and my own makeover by Charley to make me look less "pale".
- When our first son Sam was born in 2018, he decided Monday, 8am was the best time to do it. Multiple clinics were starting that morning and at that time I was still running PracticeHub entirely by myself.
- It took the first two years of running PracticeHub to get three customers onboard. We now have customers in over 40 countries.
Looking back to this time makes me think I was either crazy, or obsessed, or both, but this was driven by a burning desire to disrupt, create and build a platform that empowers Chiropractors to achieve their dreams.
I love these examples, because it shows that with determination, passion and perseverance you can achieve any goal that you set out to do.
As we head into 2024, this desire is burning stronger than ever. Our roadmap for 2024, and all our decisions as we go forward stem from this. I, and we, as a company truly want you to soar.
2023 has been a year of growth for PracticeHub. Both in business, and in our personal lives. We've had plenty of challenges, but without them there can be no growth.
What's kept us excited this year -
- Development and release of the PracticeHub Patient App
- Moved offices, and finally settled into one that feels like home
- Doubled our team and found new team members that align with our values and company culture
- Grew our customer base and expanded into new countries for the first time
- Begun to meet face to face regularly (a big deal for a remote company!)
- Launched new features, and enhanced and improved others
- Connected with many of our customers in person at Chiropractic Essentials and ChiroEurope
- Formed a dedicated Customer Success team, and moved over to Intercom as our customer support platform of choice. We love the way it's helped us connect more fully with our customers

We've got some incredibly exciting things on our roadmap for 2024, some that we have been working on this year, and others to begin later next year, with the aim to help Chiropractors see more patients and be more successful in their business.
